HABITAT: Common in parts of west, in dry woods, thickets, river-sides. Has mysteriously vanished from most of eastern range. Pairs move actively in undergrowth and low trees.
IDENTIFYING MARKS: 5 1/4"; White eyebrow, longish tail, often flipped about.
VOICE: Song variable. In west, usually two trills, buzzy or musical. Call notes: varied. Harsh dzheerr and djjk, low burdick.
