Not a common goldfinch in our area. In fact, I've only seen one once under the bird feeder in the back orchard in the Spring of 2007. So cool - a lifer on my list.

IDENTIFYING MARKS & BEHAVIOR: Both sexes grayish overall. Male: Black forehead and chin; yellow breast; yellow on wings. Forages on ground in low foliage for weed seeds and insects. Comes to bird feeders for sunflower seed and thistle (niger) seed.
